Terms and Conditions
Connect Driving School
Effective Date: 12 May 2026
- Eligibility & Eyesight Requirements
1.1 Students must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence before booking or attending any driving lesson.
1.2 Students must ensure that they are legally entitled to drive in the United Kingdom and must carry their physical provisional licence during all lessons.
1.3 Eyesight Requirement: Students must be able to read a standard UK number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres (with corrective glasses or contact lenses if required). The instructor will conduct a mandatory eyesight check on the first lesson. If the student fails to meet this legal requirement, the lesson will be terminated immediately and charged at the full rate.
1.4 The School reserves the right to refuse lessons if a student fails to provide valid licence details or is found not legally eligible to drive.
- Service Area & Availability
2.1 Before making an online booking, customers must ensure that Connect Driving School covers their specific postcode area.
2.2 Lesson availability is subject to instructor schedules, operational capacity, and location coverage.
2.3 The School reserves the right to decline or cancel bookings outside its designated operating areas.
- Bookings, Payments & Price Changes
3.1 All lessons and courses must be booked and paid for in advance unless a specific pay-as-you-go arrangement has been explicitly agreed in writing.
3.2 The School reserves the right to refuse or cancel bookings where payment has not been successfully received.
3.3 Price Amendments: Prices are subject to change. The School will provide customers with at least 14 days’ prior notice of any price updates. Confirmed prepaid block bookings will remain unaffected by price changes until those purchased hours are fully exhausted.
3.4 Weekend, evening, and bank holiday lessons may be charged at a premium rate due to instructor availability and operational demand.
- Introductory Offers
4.1 Introductory offers are strictly available to complete beginners only.
4.2 To qualify as a beginner, the student must have no previous practical driving experience and must not currently be receiving tuition from another driving instructor or school.
4.3 If the School reasonably believes incorrect or misleading information has been provided to obtain the offer, the introductory discount will be withdrawn, and standard lesson rates will apply.
- Block Bookings & Refund Policy
5.1 All block bookings and prepaid lesson packages must be completed within six (6) months from the date of purchase. Any unused lessons remaining after this 6-month expiry period will automatically lapse and are non-transferable and non-refundable.
5.2 Block booking discounts are provided on the sole condition that the full course package is completed.
5.3 If a student requests a refund before completing their full block booking:
Completed lessons will be recalculated and charged at the standard individual hourly rate.
The package discount will be removed from the calculation.
The remaining balance, minus a reasonable administrative fee, will then be refunded.
5.4 Approved refunds may take up to 14 working days to process.
- Punctuality & Lateness
6.1 Students must arrive on time for all scheduled lessons. If a student arrives late, the lesson will still end at the originally scheduled finishing time, and the lost time cannot be extended or refunded.
6.2 Instructors will wait at the designated pickup location for a maximum of 15 minutes. If the student fails to show up within this time, the lesson will be treated as a “No Show,” the instructor will leave, and the lesson will be fully charged.
- Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
7.1 48-Hour Notice: A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is strictly required to cancel or rearrange a scheduled lesson. Failure to provide at least 48 hours’ notice will result in the full lesson fee being charged or deducted from a prepaid package.
7.2 Instructor Cancellations: If the instructor must cancel a lesson due to a mechanical breakdown, sudden illness, or emergency, the School will give as much notice as possible and reschedule the lesson at no extra cost. The School is not liable for any consequential or personal losses incurred by the student (e.g., pre-booked time off work).
- Motoring Offences & Legal Liability
8.1 The student is legally liable for any motoring offences, speeding fines, penalty points, or traffic violations incurred while they are in physical control of the tuition vehicle during a lesson or practical driving test.
- Instructor Rights & Student Conduct
9.1 The safety of students, instructors, and other road users is our highest priority.
9.2 Instructors reserve the right to terminate or refuse a lesson immediately if:
A student behaves in an unsafe, abusive, threatening, aggressive, or inappropriate manner;
The student is suspected to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that impairs driving ability;
The student’s conduct creates an immediate road safety risk.
9.3 In such circumstances, the lesson will be cancelled immediately, no refund will be provided, and future lessons may be permanently refused.
9.4 Smoking or vaping inside the tuition vehicle is strictly prohibited.
- Dashboard Cameras (Dashcams)
10.1 For safety, insurance, and quality assurance purposes, the tuition vehicle may be fitted with a dual-facing dashboard camera (Dashcam) that records video and audio. By booking a lesson, the student acknowledges and consents to this recording in strict compliance with UK data protection regulations.
- Practical Driving Tests
11.1 The hire and use of the instructor’s vehicle for a practical driving test is strictly subject to the instructor’s absolute approval that the student has reached a safe, test-ready standard.
11.2 The instructor reserves the right to withdraw the vehicle for use in a driving test if they deem the student unsafe or unprepared.
11.3 The School accepts no financial or operational responsibility for driving test cancellations, changes, or delays caused by the DVSA, adverse weather conditions, or examiner industrial action.
- Health & Medical Conditions
12.1 Students must immediately inform the School of any medical condition, physical disability, learning difficulty, or prescribed medication that may affect their ability to drive safely or legally hold a UK driving licence.
- Data Protection (UK GDPR)
13.1 Personal information provided to Connect Driving School will be securely processed and stored strictly in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
13.2 Student data will only be utilized for administration, lesson bookings, legal requirements, and safety purposes. Personal data will never be sold or shared with third parties without explicit consent, except where required by law.
- Complaints Procedure
14.1 Any disputes or grievances should first be discussed directly with the driving instructor. If the matter remains unresolved, the student must submit the complaint in writing via email to Connect Driving School management for a formal review.
- Liability Disclaimer
15.1 The School shall not be held liable for traffic delays, vehicle breakdowns outside reasonable control, or loss/damage to personal belongings left in the vehicle.
15.2 Nothing within these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion is prohibited by UK Consumer Rights laws.
- Governing Law
16.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any legal disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
- Acceptance of Terms
17.1 By booking a lesson, purchasing a block booking, or utilizing any service provided by Connect Driving School, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in full.
